Ceramics classes are offered in a complete studio facility, including six electric potter’s wheels (for both left- and right-handed people), two extruders, slab roller and electric kilns. Classes are available for beginners through advanced students. Art classes include watercolor and acrylic painting. Classes are taught by Paulette Cochet, professional artist and teacher. Conversations with the Chef brings participants to fine area restaurants to enjoy lunch and a discussion with the accomplished chef. This program occurs several times a year. Hebrew classes at the YJCC are part of the UJA-NNJ Ulpan program, and are offered at various times at different levels. For information, contact UJA at (201) 820-3908. Bible classes occur monthly, taught by Rabbi Lawrence Troster. The Book of Exodus is being studied this year, through June. Periodically, other classes are offered, from mah jongg to canasta to special topics of interest.
