CHILDREN AND TEENS            

Our Youth Services Department provides enjoyable and creative educational, recreational and social programs for children and teens in kindergarten through high school. Classes, camps and special family programs invite our children into the YJCC to grow together.

Our Y Kids and Teens program offers a kaleidoscope of creative, fun, stimulating and exciting activities in a Jewish atmosphere. Our goal is to enable your child and teen to develop, learn, meet new friends, have fun and experience the thrill of accomplishment. In addition to enrichment classes for children, we offer special programs that include Kindergarten Plus, Haverim Vacation Camps, Club YJCC, YJCC Movie Club and Tween Scene. Teen classes include piano, guitar, karate, sports and fitness. Tween Scene for fifth- seventh-graders and the JCTP (Jewish Community Teen Program) for eighth- through twelfth-graders invite pre-teens and teens to the YJCC on Saturday evenings to use the pool, gym and game room. Hang out here with your friends!

Private Music Instruction
The YJCC offers private guitar and piano instruction for children and teens.

Special Events
Throughout the year, the YJCC Children and Teen Department holds exciting and fun children and family events.

After-School Programs
After-school programs in arts and music are offered for children with developmental and physical disabilities, including a specific class for children on the autistic spectrum. Qualified instructors lead each class.

After School Activities
The YKids’ after-school activities offer children with budding curiosity about cooking, dance, music, sports, Karate, or art a perfect place to explore their interests. Programs for children with working parents provide a safe environment for children after school hours.

Clubs
The YJCC’s Club Scene gives kids a unique opportunity to socialize with others their own age in a safe environment. There’s a “Club” for every age! Choose the one that’s right for you to see the upcoming program schedule!

• Club YJCC Kids, for kindergarten and first graders, is a club atmosphere where kids come to socialize and have fun. Events feature dinner, dessert, a program, and a mitzvah project.
• Movie Club, for grades 2 through 4, includes dinner, dessert, and a movie on a Saturday night.
• At Tween Scene, for grades 5 through 7, kids can use the pool or lounge; play ping-pong, foosball, and air-hockey; watch a movie in the auditorium; or hang-out in the   snack bar with friends.
• The Jewish Community Teen Project (JCTP) for grades 8 through high school gives teens a safe place to hang-out on Saturday night and offers a cool program.
