The early childhood years are unique. No longer a baby, the Nursery School student is gaining his or her first glimpse of the larger world. Filled with curiosity and imagination, these special years are a time for exploration, creation, play, questions, investigation, and activity.

The David Rukin Early Childhood Center Nursery School recognizes the key component our center will play in the life of your child and family. We are proud to lead your child in to the remarkable world of learning. Our first priority is to provide a warm, safe, and caring lace for children to find friends and playmates and for parents to share questions and discuss answers.

When you choose to send your 2-, 3- or 4-year-old to the David Rukin Early Childhood Center Nursery School, you’ve selected a program that will make your child’s introduction to formal education a delightful experience and set a tone for a lifetime of learning. Our Nursery School encourages young children to express themselves creatively through the arts, music, dance, and language. Reading and math readiness are an integral part of the program. An exciting approach to Judaic customs and holidays, with an emphasis on Jewish values and culture, is an important element of our curriculum.

Special enrichment classes provide children with opportunities to experience a broad spectrum of activities through creative play, sports, art, music, dance/movement, story-telling, science, cooking and crafts

Our Nursery School is a proud recipient of accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is fully licensed and accredited by the NJ Department of Youth & Family Services and the State Department of Education.
The school is also affiliated with the Jewish Educational Services of the UJA NNJ.

Our fully-accredited professional staff brings a special blend of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom.
We encourage each child’s individuality and intellectual curiosity while helping to develop socialization skills.

The Nursery School Program includes:
• Reading and math readiness
• Music and physical education specialists
• Weekly swimming instruction for 3s and 4s
• A variety of activities incorporated into the classroom including arts and crafts, music and movement, puppet play, science and cooking
• Fenced in playground with age appropriate equipment
• Cheerful classrooms with the most up-to-date learning aids for young children

A Variety of Options
• Nursery School classes are offered for 2s, 3s, and 4s
• Enrichment Classes for 3s and 4s
• Transportation available for an additional fee, some restrictions apply
